Rural sociology - Rural sociology is a field of sociology associated with the study of life in small towns and the country. It is a scientific study of social arrangements and behaviour amongst peoples that are distanced from points of concentrated activity.
Fred Buttel - Fred Buttel, (1948-2005) was a professor of rural sociology and environmental studies at the University of Wisconsin. Buttel was previously a professor of rural sociology at Cornell University.
Pierre Raymond - Pierre Raymond is a social scientist who has been living in Colombia since 1979, and has been working on the country’s rural problems. He has undertaken in Colombia, his adopted country, several studies of rural economy, sociology and history.
